With patent pending QuadModeSM air sampling technology, the GilAir Plus can perform both high-flow constant pressure and constant flow (450-5,000 cc/min) and low-flow constant pressure and constant flow (20-499 cc/min) with a single pump without external adaptors. High Performance
GilAir Plus is a smart air sampling pump that provides ambient or standard temperature and pressure corrected display (STP model) and data-logging for up to 16 sampling events (STP and Datalog model). The pump has high back pressure capability of up to 40" H2O in high flow and up to 40" H2O in low flow. An automatic self check system ensures sample accuracy. In the event of a fault condition, the pump's selectable automatic fault recovery feature attempts to restart the pump up to 10 times every 3 minutes to determine if the fault condition has been cleared.
Ergonomic Design
One-third smaller than traditional personal air sampling pumps and weighing less than 21 oz. (595 g), the GilAir Plus provides superior operator comfort. An integrated belt clip securely attaches the pump in a horizontal position, allowing workers a full range of motion to perform a wide variety of tasks without interference or discomfort.
Barometric Pressure Compensation
When sampling at altitudes of up to 8,000 feet above or 8,000 feet below sea level, GilAir Plus has the capability of automatically correcting the flow rate for altitude changes to maintain constant flow accuracy of +/- 5% over this barometric pressure range. This feature permits GilAir Plus calibration at ground level and sampling at high elevations or deep mines without loss of flow accuracy or the need to calculate and use manual correction factors. GilAir Plus is the only personal air sampling pump with this capability.
Communications
Multi-pump DocksThe GilAir Plus dock provides charging and communication functions for the STP and data-logging models. Once docked, the PC application allows users to review datalogs, generate sampling reports, manage sampling programs, and create pump set-up profiles that expedite deployment of large pump fleets. The SmartCalSM feature uses the dock as a communication link between appropriate calibration devices and the GilAir Plus. SmartCalSM automates calibration and records pre and post sample calibrations in the pump's datalog.

The Sensidyne Gilian GilAir Plus is an advanced personal air sampling pump system available in three models: a basic model, a datalogging pump (DL) model, and standard temperature and pressure (STP) model. The STP model corrects the display flow rate and air volume to standard conditions of temperature and pressure. The STP model can also correct pump flow rate to keep flow constant with changes in barometric pressure and ambient temperature.
All models offer constant flow modes and constant pressure control modes. The Constant Flow Mode holds the set flow constant against changing backpressure within 5% or 3 cc/min whichever is larger. The Constant Pressure Mode holds the pressure constant when taking samples using constant resistance sampling trains. The constant pressure (multi-flow) mode allows the air stream to be split into two or more separate samples so that multiple samples can run at the same time. (See Appendix D for information on the dual port manifold) Furthermore, all models offer a built-in low constant flow mode, such that flow rates are attainable from 20 cc/min to 5100 cc/min without the addition of an external low flow adapter. Operation down to 1 cc/min is possible in the constant pressure mode. Additionally, all models offer start-stop programmability. A matrix chart for the available pump models are shown above.
The Datalog and STP models can also be equipped with the Bluetooth and Motion Module. The motion features of the module allow the pump to record additional motion data that can be used for verifying pump-wearing compliance and user activity monitoring. User motion is tracked and recorded by motion intensity. ACTIVE motion (walking), PASSIVE motion (wearing, but not walking), and INACTIVE motion (not wearing). The percentage of each motion intensity can be displayed on the pump event data review screen and the time-based graphs of instantaneous motion are available within the latest Gilian CONNECT software. Gilian CONNECT Mobile (available for Android and iOS) can connect to a Bluetooth-enabled pump during a sample run, allowing confirmation that pump is performing as desired. Users may Start, Pause, and Stop a sample; review sample history; and document the pump’s use by using the mobile device’s camera to photograph and embed current time and data into an e-mail message. Since the connection is wireless, the pump’s user doesn’t need to be disturbed and the review can be done from a distance. User access controls prevent unauthorized app users from controlling the pump sampling state.
